Sue & Kenny’s Park Chateau Wedding
Sue and Kenny’s Park Chateau wedding was a beautiful reminder that unpredictable weather can sometimes make a wedding day even more memorable.
The day began with rain, creating a soft and romantic atmosphere throughout Park Chateau. Then, as the celebration continued, the clouds cleared and the entire venue transformed under bright sunshine.
That contrast gave us the opportunity to create two completely different moods in one wedding day — quiet, editorial portraits in the softer light and bright, joyful photographs once the sun came out.
For a wedding photographer, days like this are always special. Rather than fighting the weather, we simply let it become part of Sue and Kenny’s story.
We began the day with Sue and Kenny getting ready before moving into their first look and portraits around Park Chateau.
The rainy weather created a softer atmosphere throughout the early part of the day, which worked beautifully for the quieter moments and more editorial portraits.
Park Chateau offers so many different backgrounds within one location, from its elegant interiors to the architecture and gardens surrounding the property. Even with the changing weather, we were able to create a wide variety of portraits without ever feeling rushed.
After the ceremony, the rain stopped for a short time.
We took advantage of the break in the weather and stepped outside with Sue, Kenny, and their guests for a few photographs.
Some of the best moments from a wedding day often happen during these short, unplanned windows. Rather than trying to control the day too much, we simply followed the light and the weather and let everyone enjoy the moment together.
It gave us a completely different energy from the earlier portraits — more relaxed, spontaneous, and celebratory.
From there, the celebration moved into the reception.
The evening was filled with speeches, dancing, laughter, and all of the small candid moments that make the reception feel personal to each couple.
While portraits are an important part of how we tell a wedding story, these unscripted moments are just as meaningful. They show the relationships, emotion, and atmosphere that can only happen once everyone comes together.
Later in the day, the weather changed once again.
The clouds cleared, the light became brighter, and Park Chateau looked completely different from how it had earlier in the day.
We brought Sue and Kenny back outside for one final set of portraits, taking advantage of the clear sky and fresh light after the rain.
It was the perfect way to end the day — starting with rain, moving through so many different moods, and finishing under a bright sky with just the two of them.
